What is Internet Marketing?

Put in its simplest terms, internet marketing is the selling of goods and/or services over the internet.

These can be:

These products can be your own products that you receive full payments for or affiliate products that are owned and produced by somebody else and you are paid a commission for selling them.

The vast majority of products sold by network marketers are digital products that the purchaser can download immediately directly to their computer, this is also the easiest for the seller as they don’t have the bother of storing and shipping the goods

Affiliate products
These are items that are produced by somebody else who gives you permission to sell them for a commission, you get paid as per the terms of your agreement with the owner of the product.
This can be anything up to 75% of the price the purchaser pays for them and you can be paid immediately or payment may be deferred until a given time in the future, some pay every month others may pay quarterly. This is commonly referred to as affiliate marketing.

MLM
MLM or multi level marketing is another popular way of making money on the internet, you are sponsored into the program and part of your monthly payment goes to your sponsor, their sponsor etc. this can go up many levels.
You are then expected to sponsor others into the program so that you generate your own income and add to the income of those above you, often referred to as your upline.
They are big in health & wellness products, training products and many other things. You also get paid a commission on the products your MLM program offers that you sell to retail customers.

If the program does not have quality products attached to it, it then becomes either a pyramid scheme, that is illegal or it will not last very long and you will lose anything you have invested in it.

I have recently read a report that makes interesting reading if you are an MLM distributor or thinking about becoming one. I havent checked this out in any depth yet but I think it is well worth reading it is called 'Evaluating Truth On MLM'

Using Websites provided by the Company

With most companies you are provided with a sales page or wesbite for you to promote, although these have been tested and proven to work, when they are promoted by possibly hundreds of people they become ineffectve because:

• There are a lot of people using the same page
• They are ignored by the search engines
• There is much less chance of you making the sale
• Potential clients have seen the page so often they ignore it
• Any new clients go onto the owners list, not yours

To get around these problems you need to be able to pre-sell the item, whether it is an affiliate product or an opportunity, by using your own capture page, so that you capture the prospects details before you introduce them to the program, you then have that persons details so that you can offer them other products or opportunities in the future.
