Advertising
Types of advertising and where they fit into your system
The most important aspect of making money in network marketing is advertising, there are many different forms of advertising available on the internet.
Traffic Exchanges
Opt-in Emails
Forums
Traffic Exchanges
These are programs that display your splash page in exchange for you clicking on links to other peoples ads or buying clicks.
They are generally free to use but many have paid upgrades that allow you to either get a better rate of exchange and/or give your ads extra displays.
When you join as a free member you may get, for example, 1 showing of your ad for every 2 ads you click on, whereas if you were a paid member you would get 1 showing of your ad for every ad you click on.
This form af advertising is very time consuming and to do it successfully you need to be able to do it for at least an hour a day to get enough displays of your ad to make it worth while.
I do use a few of these but I am too busy to give enough time for them to be very effective.
These are the ones I am a member of: Click Crazey , TS25 , Traffic Swarm , Dragon Surf , ILoveHits , EasyHits4U , Hit Gusher and ClickVoyager .
These are just the ones that I use, when I have bit of free time, but there are hundreds more out there that are used regularly and successfully by many people.

Opt-In Emails
There are 2 basic types of opt-in email lists, there are those that you generate yourself, these are discussed fully on another page called listbuilding this link will take you there.
There is a second type often referred to as shared listbuilders. They are membership sites that you join, these perform the dual function of building your list and sending out emails.
They are commercial programs, you sign up to become a member and then have the facility to send emails to other people that you sign up for the program and other random members at designated intervals.
When you sign up you have the option of being a free member or upgrading to a paid membership where you normally have the facility to advertise to more members on a more frequent basis.
There are quite a few of these programs out there, the ones I use are: Viralurl, List Auction, List Joe, and ListDotCom, I find I get a fairly good response from all of these. Check them out and you will see what I mean.
If you do join any of them I would advise you to take the upgrade option if you can possibly afford it as it gives you considerable benefits

One thing I like to point out at this stage is that if you use pre-written emails from your program there is a good chance they will have a personalisation field in them, they are designed to put the recipients name into either the headline and/or the subject. All of these programs use different formats for how to display the name into the final email message.
You have probably received emails that start “Dear {Firstname}” or something like that, this because the sender failed to follow this simple step.
For example the email you have got from your program has an opening line of:
Dear [[NAME]]
If you copied that directly into a ListDotCom email message it would work correctly, but, if you put that into a ViralUrl email it wouldnt work you would need to change [[NAME]] to {firstname} for it to work.
All of these programs give specific instruction as to what personalisation code you need to put in to enable them to work.

Forums
Another way of advertising is through the forums, there are many available for you to join, a question is posted and other people reply to the posts.
Although you can advertise through them you only advertise blatantly in areas that are set aside for it, you NEVER blatantly advertise in a post or reply, you could well get expelled from the forum if you do.
When you post a question, or reply to somebody elses post you advertise through your signature.
Your signature is a short piece of text that you set to automatically be added at the end of anything you write. You can insert a piece of text into that to put an ad in it.
If you join several forums and frequently add posting and reply to existing postings your ad will be seen and clicked on, as well as promoting your product your name is also getting known, people would rather buy from a recognised name than a total stranger.
